Being a fan of Google Docs and Spreadsheets, I was totally intrigued when I've learned from a report that Microsoft is cooking up a similar productivity software called Albany (in the meantime).
What gave way for the little birds to hum about this secret Microsoft project was when beta testers were contacted to try this office-family software.
Some testers with whom I’ve spoken are betting that Albany could be the next version of Microsoft Works, Microsoft’s low-end productivity suite. Works includes an address book, calendar, database, dictionary, PowerPoint Viewer, basic Word and templates.
It would be very nice it would indeed be a better version the PC-based Microsoft Works, if it will also have a lighter version of Live Writer, AND if it would come with no price tag at all. Yes, doesn't everyone love freeware?
Now if you were to suggest anything that will make this Albany software become a real Google Docs and Spreadsheets killer, what would your suggestions be?
