Who won't find computers as one of the most important tools ever invented? If you're reading this, I don't have to stress that fact anymore. Almost every year a new upgrade is available for the consumers to get a hold of. Every year it becomes more advance, more efficient, and faster and best of all its capacity to store gets bigger and bigger, this most often gives us the idea that we can use up all this huge spaces.
We make countless documents and install programs we fancy (sometimes we don’t even use, we just thought it might be useful in time). By filling a huge percentage of the capacity of our computer we maybe putting our computers at risk of slowing down or sometimes even failing when we need it the most.
“So what?!,” you say right? I have more than a hundred gigabytes to use!
Are you online in your computer oftentimes? Then you are putting your computer at risk of picking up weird or sometimes deadly (for your computer and probably your business if it's your main tool) viruses. Most of this viruses targets documents and programs and causes it to work inefficiently or worse it deletes this important files. Another thing you can catch online is hackers or thieves that just decide to vandalize your hard work.
Okay, so if you don’t want to lose those huge files and programs you keep putting there then be sure you have a back up files for all those important documents because you never know when you just might need them.
Back up files will help you at the time your computer starts spitting out weird languages that you cannot decipher. It is always better to be safe than sorry. When everything in your computer starts falling apart your documents (that you have been working on all week long) won’t fall apart with it. Remember your computer is just a machine, it's not perfect. Expect it to fail anytime.

I've been thinking about this a lot lately. I don't think I've ever backed up my computers; either of them. A friend of mine recently had her computer infected by a very vicious virus and it's got me a little freaked out. I'm getting and external hard drive ASAP so I can back up my stuff and store thing somewhere other than just on my computer. Backing up is super important.
