A fuming boss, piles of paperwork, toxic co-workers, and family problems - perfect recipe for a myocardial infarction.
Hot Forest Technology managing director, Richard Staniszewski aims to aid in preventing workers from reaching dangerous stress levels through Optimal Office, a newly-developed technology for workplace stress management.
This technology uses biosensors fitted in a handheld computer mouse called SensDevice, together with a web 2.0 application, that measure changes in the user's skin electrical properties and.
As the worker continues to work using his PC, the sensor continues to measure his stress levels. And when his stress levels reach a certain limit, the worker will be alerted and will be suggested to perform stress management techniques.Mr Staniszewski says: "This is the first non-intrusive stress device, based on the good old FBI lie detector! It measures voltage, current and temperature and so gives an accurate reading by the second.
"There is nothing else that does this. It was trialled at Boeing in the US, and the department tested achieved a 10 per cent increase in productivity." via
Optimal Office is currently being used in the UK, particularly by the Metropolitan Police and the RAF.
This technology is definitely one that seems to promise great assistance in workplace stress management, thus deserves to be exposed to more companies particularly those with stress-inducing workplaces like call center companies.
