
Yes, you read it right Microsoft Office 2008 is now available for you Mac users. It's actually one of the highlights of the Steve Jobs keynotes at the MacWorld conference. Office 2008 for Mac comes in three flavors:![]()
Microsoft Office 2008 for Mac, which costs $399.95 and 239.95 for the upgrade, has Word, Excel, Power Point and Entourage.
Microsoft Office 2008 for MacHome and Student edition includes up to three licenses for $199.95 and costs $149.95.
Microsoft Office 2008 for Mac Special Media edition is $629.95, or $379.95 for the upgrade.
So what are the new features that one can expect from Office 2008 for Mac?
Aside from its being compatible with PowerPC and Intel Mac, Office 2008 for Mac also adopted the Office 2007 for Windows' Ribbon interface. Also, there's the Publishing Layout View for creating layout-rich Word documents and Excel Ledger Sheets for accomplishing common financial management tasks without having to use brain-draining Excel formulas. Now that's interesting!
