Or any mobile phone for that matter.
Aside from the risk of running into an accident, a study on cell phone drivers by David Strayer, Psychology professor at the University of Utah, showed that drivers talking on mobile phones drive about 2 mph slower even when using handsfree devices. As a result, traffic gets aggravated. And you know how much stress and other byproducts clogged traffic can bring, right?
Overall, cell phone drivers took about 3 percent longer to drive the same highly traffic-clogged route (and about 2 percent longer to drive a medium congested route) than people who were not on the phone. About one in 10 drivers is on the phone so it really adds up, said Strayer, whose earlier studies have found slower reaction times from drivers on the phones and compared those reaction times to people legally drunk.
According to the study, it's the inability of the brain to multi-task efficiently that's causing the slow reaction of drivers on their cell phones.
Now I'm curious if this also applies to women since the common notion is women can multi-task more effectively than men.
What do you think?

I think me driving a little slower is a good thing since I have a tendency to drive fast ;-).
