It's More Than A Scout Motto: Be Prepared
What happens in life when we don't know what's going to happen next?  This isn't meant to be a puzzle question; it's a real issue in our lives.  At any given time, we're dealt with something we didn't expect and we need to know how to deal with it.

Let's start with an easy, entirely possible, illustration.  At this very minute, your electric power is doing its job, the internet connection is holding up it's side of the show, you're online and reading this post.  What to do, though, if someone hits a pole, knocks out a transformer and the electricity stops?   Ever think of that?

There's no point to me redundantly going into all of the possibilities.  We know they're out there.  The big question is whether or not we've thought about those posssibilities and have an idea for a Plan B (and maybe C or D).

After the fact, it doesn't help to say, "I never thought".  After the fact is the part when we scramble to pick up the pieces and try to figure out what went wrong.  Not bad if we can concentrate well enough to figure it out and learn from it.

How much better and easier, though, if we incorporate some forethought into our lives.  Since we know how easily the unpredicted can toss wrenches in our plans, perhaps we should think.  That's it, just think, and well, ok, add "think ahead" to our mental toolboxes.

The unexpected needn't be so very unexpected.
