
This is a three-part article about change; how we resist and shun it, how we need and embrace it. It's not going to be a series. Rather, an overview (at 100Bloggers), a philosophical look at it (at Thoughts & Philosophies), and how it affects us in the pocket (right here).
Growth is change, plain is simple and there really is no bounty in "business as usual". It's true that, in some fields, specifically the tech fields, this goes without
saying. It's true for everyone else, too. We've gone beyond where the usual can produce anything close to satisfactory results. And, if we're looking to get to the next level and to be outstanding, we need to talk about change, growth, mastery.
Time was when a more-than-adequate living could be had by simply keeping abreast of the trends. Not so now. Now keeping abreast will result in solidly mediocre and stuck.
Today, especially when the status quo starts to get comfortable, it's important to grasp, embrace, and master change. Today we need to overwhelm ourselves with the excitement of new thoughts about old things, because the status quo will strangle us.

But in this case, we know both the cause and the effect. We also know that the thoughts that cause us to change will effect the successes result in more success.
