That’s all I’m here for - to just help one person say “I’ve begun to see the importance of personal branding and career management” — that’s what drives me to blog each day. –Jason Alba, On Pleasing People (I’m Not Pleasing Everyone), Jibber Jobber
Today,
The concept of JJ and its growth came out of Jason’s untimely layoff a few years ago, with few prospects in a less-than-desirable job market. In the process of refining Jibber Jobber, he examined some of the mistakes that led him to a brick wall after the layoff: a degree, even combined with experience, is worthless without career management tools like networking and personal branding.
Additionally, I hope that JibberJobber is excellent at empowering individuals. When I was laid off and looking I had virtually no tools available to me. I was at a low and not having any tools didn’t help my self-esteem. I hope that JibberJobber is empowering people and providing value that really helps them feel like professionals again. –Jason Alba, Interview with Jason Alba of Jibber Jobber, JobMob (Jacob Share)
The unwritten bottom line to Jibber Jobber’s mission is to help all of us, job seekers or not, maintain control in our searches and, ultimately, our lives, with “methodical, disciplined growth”.
Happy Birthday, Jibber Jobber; kudos, Jason.

Thanks Carolyn, this is a nice and unexpected birthday present :)
