Last week in Education Is One Of Our Roots I talked about Kent Blumberg’s concern about the state of education and his post Tell me how I can improve education in the US.
Through the comments, Henry Cates from Why Homeschool offered an excellent suggestion.
I popped over to Why Homeschool to get a better understanding of the home vs. public methods of educating children and, what I saw there was very interesting.
In Introduction to Homeschooling, Henry gives a comprehensive explanation of the basics: what, why, and how, as well as additional resources available.
Parent-directed education has its advantages for parents who are dissatisfied with public school environments or levels of teaching.
It’s not the answer for everyone, but it’s a viable possibility in many households.

Thank you for the kind words.
