It’s probably prejudicial of me to say so, but bloggers are among the most intelligent people. We know what’s going on in many fields because we take the time to research so we can write to entertain and inform. The biggest problem with most of us is listening and focusing. We don’t always listen to our own or our fellows’ advice. Doing the next right thing is the easiest thing to do, but we forget to pay attention to the simplicity of that message.
How many times have you left the computer in the middle of a post, gone into the kitchen for a cup of tea, noticed dirty dishes and washed them before going back to your writing? I just did that this morning. What’s that about? No one pays me to wash the dishes; they could have waited for another fifteen or twenty minutes.
Has anyone out there not recently read. Written, or thought about things like: write down your goals, make a ‘to do’ list, schedule your time? Um, I know I have.
Well, here’s another tip: don’t let the small stuff distract you.

Absolutely agree! I, like an increasing number of people these days, work mostly from home. That, combined with the fact that I live in sunny California just 150 yards from the beach, poses a huge potential for distractions--TV, the beach, neighbors, what have you. It takes effort, and sometimes my eyes hurt from forcing myself to stare at my computer screen too long, but it's the only way I can be productive working from home. Begone little distractions!
