Day Sleeping - Part 3 of 3

This is the last in a series of three posts about power napping.

*******

Why do we drive ourselves to the point of exhaustion?  That’s a question that’s bothered me for a long while.  We often insist that a little sleep time will disrupt our days, will take away from productivity.  Apparently, our insistence was in the wrong direction.

It’s a good idea to wind down for a little while and rest for about a half hour during the day; it boosts productivity.

You must sleep sometime between lunch and dinner…Don’t think you will be doing less work because you sleep during the day. That’s a foolish notion held by people who have no imaginations. You will be able to accomplish more. You get two days in one — well, at least one and a half, I’m sure. –Winston Churchill

That’s not only good advice from a person of history; it has backing from the Reasearchers at the Salk Institute at the Salk Institute for Biological Studies and from NASA.

You’re right.  In this series I didn’t tell how to nap at work.  You’ll have to visit Spine-Health.com Blog, How to Power Nap at Work, for the rest of the story.

Fellow insomniacs unite! Yes, Pete, I know what you mean. Fortunately, I work at home. Napping doesn't bother my boss :)

You wrote a Nice Series! However I don't like to take a nap even I'm very tired because it will make me sleep late at night and eventually affect the next day productivity.

Thanks Harrison. A lot of people don't care to nap for the reason you give. Since I work from home, though, a nap in the afternoon is ok; I can still work at night.
