I just got a question from Bill Belew at PanAsianBiz. The answer has been nagging me for years: “what do we do when we bite off more than we can chew?”.
Well, what do you do? How do you separate the wheat from the chaff?
My question for all of us is: can you clean your desk/closet/room/ without feeling like you must re-paint the whole house?
Bill has a bunch on his plate:
I have about 250 online students, 3 blogs that I write 6 posts or so each daily to manage....please, please help me come up with a strategy...I am seriously going nuts.
So do you do when you bite off more than you can chew? Yeah, I know, it's a hard thing to face, but Bill needs help now.
Can we give him a hand? It looks like he could use a bit of our online help.

I have felt over committed recently too. And interestingly enough, I had to take time to re-group. I think the best thing to do when you have taken on too much is step back and take stock of where you think your focus really should be. When we are spread too thin we are not as helpful as we could be...Dr. Weber has written about how multi-tasking works against our brain.
I'm definitely no expert on time management so these are really just reflections on my own feeling of being overwhelmed recently and how I dealt with it. Being a single mother with two jobs, a son who plays basketball (and expects me to be at every game - rightfully so) as well as other obligations, sometimes feels like I'm drowning in responsibility. In the end, I was able to take stock of what my focus should be and have been since reinvigorated.
I hope this comment helps...
