Blogtipping day has passed but I thought it apropos to use this format to review Productivity501, a blog by business productivity consultant Mark W. Shead, where he shares tips and advice to help you better manage your time. Here’s how it works, I point out three things I like and make one helpful suggestion. What's good about Productivity501:
1. The Most for Your Minute. This series dispenses common sense tips for getting the most out of your time. I especially liked the posts about time as an investment and ordering tasks, which are reminders that being highly productive is a way of life, not a quick fix.
2. Easy access for subscribers. Having the RSS feed and email subscription prompt in the top right hand corner is smart marketing and puts both options in the forefront as soon as they visit the site. Most sites relegate the subscription feature to the bottom of the page where only people who are looking will find it.
3. High Marks for Site Stickiness. The layout design and color scheme for Productivity501 are excellent. The topics and headlines – not to mention quality writing – all make for a very sticky website. I read voraciously for nearly an hour before I remembered that I was supposed to be writing the review.
Room for Improvement
If I had nit-pick, I'd say the images need a little more color to them. The site’s color scheme is easy enough on the eye but Productivity501 still lacks the vibrancy that could easily be obtained by adding a little more pop to the pictures. Still, I can't help but like the fact that Productivity501 is not visually busy and that the images don't take away from the great content.
