You probably remember the fable by Aesop involving an industrious ant and a fun-loving, procrastinating grasshopper. The ant worked hard all summer, storing up grain for the winter. The grasshopper jumped around and sang and laughed at the ant for working so hard. But, of course, come winter, the grasshopper had nothing, while the ant made it through winter in fine style.
See what happens when you procrastinate? Seriously,
though, being organized does involve some ant-like traits. I’m fairly lazy myself, and I assure you that you don’t have to work as hard as an ant just to stay on top of things. The ant was able to get through the winter bringing in only one grain of wheat a day. [illustration courtesy of The Jason Turner Project]
What does one grain of wheat equal for you? Three minutes of tidying your desk? Five minutes of going through the mail and processing it? Four minutes of deleting no longer relevant emails? Those grains really add up.

This is so true. Besides when you get on a roll, you tend to get more done. So, if you start with that 'one grain' chances are you'll get more completed and sock away more grains than you originally set out to do.
