The easiest part of the Getting Things Done (GTD) system to leave out is the weekly review. The weekly review feels like one of those things you should do, like clearing off your desk or filing, but you don’t really want to do.
After all, you’ve already gone through all that stuff and made decisions and chosen next actions. Why revisit the whole thing again, especially on a Friday afternoon when there are other things on your mind?
But the review is where it really all comes together. It’s the only time that is actively set aside to take a good look at what you’re doing and what you’re planning to do. Michael Hyatt has a concise description of how to conduct the review.
You could also think of this as the weekly overview. When you look at all the lists, projects, ideas and calendar items at once, you get an invaluable overview of your universe. And that provides a vital reality check. Ignore it at your peril.

Good point. I find the weekly review the most beneficial part of GTD.
