Associate New Habits with Old Habits
This is part three from Tuesday's suggestions for making changes.

To make things easier:
Don't take for granted the productive habits you already have. Some might have come naturally, some you had to work hard to install. The great thing about good habits is that you don't have to think about them. That's means they happen almost effortlessly.

Habit is a cable; we weave a thread of it every day, and at last we cannot break it.
Horace Mann, US educator, 1796-1859

Habits are usually triggered by something; an activity, a prop, a time of day. If you associate the new potential habit with a something that you already do habitually and let that be your reminder trigger, it will be much easier to create the new habit.
