Here's part two of five from Tuesday's suggestions.
Make things easier by:
I often notice that people are reluctant to make reminder notes for themselves. Forgetfulness is associated with age, and no one wants to feel old! Also, people expect to be able to remember simple things, like taking vitamins or emptying the recycling. In my opinion, you have better things to fill up your brain with than whether you remembered to pay your phone bill. Do not hesitate to make lists; they are dependable productivity tools.
Every time that you forget to do one of those fairly insignificant tasks that you know you should do, you create what David Allen calls an "open loop." That means chronic, low-grade brain clutter that puts a big crimp in your daily productivity.
So, do yourself a favor and make lists. Keep them short (3-5 items, one line each), post them prominently in the area where the tasks are done, and enjoy mentally checking off each item.
