Here's a quick tip for winnowing down your email inbox. First, sort your inbox by sender. (Usually, you can just click on the desired header section to resort your inbox. Click again to sort in reverse order.) This is a good way to delete all the back issues of ezines or group lists, or delete all but the last couple of issues. This also works for deleting long exchanges to plan an event or set up a meeting.

If you have long exchanges with more than one other person, try sorting your inbox by subject line. Both these sorting methods make deleting email much easier than going back to last year (!) and slogging through them one at a time.
