In a presentation I gave this week, I offered, as I usually do, lots of tips and tricks to help my listeners be more organized. One attendee raised her hand to ask, “Doesn’t this tip completely contradict the other one you just gave us?” The answer is, “Yes, it does!”
Do I contradict myself?
Very well then I contradict myself,
(I am large, I contain multitudes.)

The same tricks won’t work for everyone. The same tricks probably won’t even work for you all the time, or as time goes on. Things change, you get bored, you can’t do things the way your colleagues do.
Most of the time, there’s no single right answer to questions about managing time and paper. What works, as I’ve said before, is 1) what you are willing to do 2) that gets the job done adequately.
