Yes, you can't beat writing things down to get them out of your head. It works for negative stuff, like worries, and also for positive stuff, like fantastic ideas that pop into your head when you're working on something else. Barbara Sher suggests writing those wonderful ideas down and putting them in a box on your desk so they won't be forgotten or lost.
