It's Thursday, which is One Question Interview Day. Or 1Q Interview, that has a nice rhythm to it. Today's interviewee, Shirley George Frazier, is an author who lives on the Internet guiding her two sites, SoloBusinessMarketing.com and GiftBasketBusiness.com.
Each site's blog lets Shirley share quick-to-read ideas with business owners who also visit the main sites for in-depth articles. Her ideas for small business people are practical and to the point. She even has a category called “Problems and Solutions.” I love her idea of the ride to nowhere!
Shirley, what are your three favorite personal productivity
techniques/habits/tools?
-
Starting early. I'm up to greet the sun thanks to a household that vacates the home by 6:30 am. My office work starts at 6:31 each morning, a time when I'm refreshed from a good night's rest, during which time I've amassed plenty of ideas that flow from my head so quickly that I'm forced to write quick notes to myself before starting the first project.
-
Riding the train or bus once a week. Don't ask how I can get so much done by boarding public transportation for a round-trip ride to nowhere and back. At the end of the trip, I've finalized several projects and written enough text to launch an ebook or similar report. I think it has something to do with being twisted, turned, and bumped in a way that never occurs in the office. In addition, I'd be very upset if I came back with nothing done.
-
Placing pens and paper in every room. The minute I cannot find something to write with and on is the minute my greatest idea is conceived. This happens quite often when I shower, which is why I bought a package of waterproof markers. I'm able to write notes on the shower walls. It looks creepy until I wash it off, but the completed results are worth it.
What's your top three?

Shirley,
You are a true wonder. I'm so glad that Claire found you and got you to share some of your sparkle and your insight with the world!
