
Do you have that power? You do, probably to a larger extent than you think you do. If you’re reading my posts, you must feel like you have some power to change, or why bother? In fact, believing that you have that power is even more important than whether you actually have it or not. If you think you can change something, you’re much more likely to take positive action to do so.
Managing your time is no exception. Having control here often comes in the form of pushing back a little. When faced with an impossible deadline, you can push back by negotiating it farther away, or in stages, or with fewer deliverables.
When extra work is heaped on, you can push back by delegating parts of it, sharing the work with a team, or scaling down the project. But the first step is believing you can.
