“Time is the coin of your life. It is the only coin you have, and only you can determine how it will be spent. Be careful, lest you let other people spend it for you.”
I found this Carl Sandburg quotation used in a lifehack.org post. This idea is a great one for helping you turn your point of view around about how you spend your time.
On Wednesday I mentioned having a written list of the Important Stuff. To generate that list, it can be helpful to divide your to-do’s, tasks and projects into “important to me” and “important to someone else,” then see how many from the latter list you can dump. Realizing that the time you have is finite and is passing even as you read this can have a bracing effect on how you view what consumes your time.
