So, you have a state of affairs called a job; how do you shoehorn some desire in there? Even without the freedom to do what you want, when you want to and the way you want to, I recommend finding the intersection between your job description and your own personal goals. For example, say you have to produce a dry, boring report every Monday afternoon. You're a creative person; repetitive, just-the-facts type work is really not you.
What else do you value? Reliability, responsibility, contribution of information that others can't do their work without, competence, being knowledgeable and organized and on top of things, being the go-to person for certain information?
Maybe your creativity comes in the form of finding new ways of applying the report's information, or in laying it out in a more usable, intelligible way. If you can find some desire to motivate your work, you'll do it better and enjoy it more.
